Gov. Reynolds proclaims Nov. 5-9 Agricultural Entrepreneurship Week

Gov. Kim Reynolds recently signed a proclamation designating Nov. 5 to 9 as Agricultural Entrepreneurship Week.

The Agriculture Entrepreneurship Initiative at Iowa State University and affiliated students, entrepreneurs, investors, businesses and supporters are planning several events to mark the second year of the designation.

“I am so proud of the innovative ways that Iowa’s farmers and entrepreneurs create safe, reliable, quality products,” said Reynolds. “Iowa is known across the world for innovation in agriculture, so it is appropriate to proclaim Agricultural Entrepreneurship week again this year.”

“Iowa has a rich history as home to agricultural entrepreneurs who have created world-changing technologies, products, services and businesses,” said Kevin Kimle, Rastetter Chair of Agricultural Entrepreneurship and director of the Iowa State University Agricultural Entrepreneurship Initiative. “We look forward to events on and off-campus to celebrate the past and create the future.”

Events for the week include a student pitch competition, an agriculture startup showcase, a keynote event on future opportunities in agriculture, an unconference on building a more vibrant ecosystem for agricultural entrepreneurs, and more.
