Arkansas livestock auction summary
The summary of livestock auctions in Arkansas for the week ending Oct. 19, showed estimated receipts of 6,675 head selling, compared to 8,405 head a week ago and 11,465 head last year, according to the USDA-Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service, Little Rock, Arkansas.
Compared to a week ago, feeder steer sales were mixed ranging from $4 lower to $3 higher. Feeder heifers were selling $1 to $5 lower. Slaughter cows were selling $1 to $2 lower. Slaughter bulls were selling steady. The supply included 4,440 stocker and feeder calves, 1,060 feeder yearlings, 270 replacement cows, 805 slaughter cows and 100 slaughter bulls. The feeder supply was 42% yearling heifers.
