High Plains direct slaughter cattle sales report

High Plains weekly weighted average direct slaughter cattle sales, for the week ending Oct. 21, totaled 91,729 head selling, compared to 89,722 head a week ago and 95,400 head last year, according to the USDA Livestock, Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri.

The report was based on sales in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Colorado, Iowa and Minnesota feedlots.

Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 21,859 head, 1,325 to 1,655 lbs., 108.00 to 111.50 (110.04); 65 to 80% Choice, 5,739 head, 1,315 to 1,575 lbs., 108.00 to 111.50 (110.03); 35 to 65% Choice, 436 head, 1,350 to 1,350 lbs., 111.00.
