Grain market close

The USDA Market News Service, Greeley, Colo., in the closing grain report for Oct. 23, reported in futures trading that Chicago December soft red winter wheat was $5.09, up 1 cent; December corn, $3.70 1/4, up 3/4 cent; and November soybeans, $8.57 1/2, down 1 cent.

The export bid for direct Gulf delivery of No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, rail, $5.67 1/2 to $5.87 1/2, down 1/4 cent; No. 2 soft red winter wheat, barge, $5.69 to $5.74, up 1 cent; No. 2 yellow corn, barge, $4.06 1/4, down 1 1/4 to 3 1/4 cents; No. 2 yellow sorghum, rail, $7.23 3/4, up 1 1/2 cents; No. 2 yellow sorghum, barge, unavailable; and No. 2 yellow soybeans, barge, unavailable.

Colby, Kan., unit train wheat bid was $4.53.

In Denver and the surrounding area, hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, was $4.63 to $4.88.

No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, north central Colorado, was mostly steady, at $4.60 to $4.63.

In northeast Colorado, wheat was $4.32 to $4.53.

In east central Colorado, wheat was $4.42 to $4.53.

In southeast Colorado, wheat was $4.38 to $4.63.

In southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming, wheat bids were $4.28 to $4.53.

No. 2 yellow corn in north central Colorado was steady to 1 cent higher and $3.79 to $3.85 per bushel.

In northeast Colorado, the country elevator corn bids were $3.30 to $3.55.

In east central Colorado, corn was $3.30 to $3.40.

In southeast Colorado, corn was $3.15 to $3.73.

In southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming, corn bids were $3.30 to $3.37 per bushel.

No. 2 yellow sorghum in southeast Colorado was steady at $5.27 to $5.68 per cwt.

No. 1 yellow soybeans in southwest Nebraska were mostly 1 cent lower at $7.05 to $7.07 per bushel.

White millet in Colorado, southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming was $9.25 to $9.75 per cwt., mostly $9.25.

Sunflowers were $18 cwt.

In Denver and surrounding areas, corn was $3.85 per bushel. Barley was unavailable.

In northeast Colorado, Wyoming and western Nebraska, pinto beans were steady $22 per cwt; in North Dakota and Minnesota, pinto beans were steady $21 to $22. In North Dakota and Minnesota, black beans were steady $26. Great Northerns were steady at $22 in northeast Colorado, Wyoming and western Nebraska. In North Dakota and Minnesota, navy beans were steady $21 to $22. In northeast Colorado, Wyoming and western Nebraska, light red kidneys were steady $35; in North Dakota and Minnesota, light red kidneys were steady $34 to $36.
