Kansas Livestock Association, the Kansas Beef Council and the Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine will host two advanced beef cattle care and health training sessions in November. Each session also will be webcast to an additional location.
K-State veterinarians Dan Thomson and A. J. Tarpoff will lead the training. The curriculum will include Beef Quality Assurance recommendations on animal husbandry, downed animal care, cattle lameness and low-stress handling techniques. Those attending the sessions will earn BQA certification.
The host location for the Nov. 5 training will be the Meridian Center in Newton, with the remote webcast held at the Clint Bowyer Building in Emporia. On Nov. 7, the BQA session will be held at Washington High School and webcast at the Gateway Civic Center in Oberlin.
