Amarillo Livestock Auction report

The Amarillo Livestock Auction, Amarillo, Texas, reported receipts of 1,082 head selling on Oct. 29, compared to 925 head last year, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Amarillo, Texas.

No recent comparison was available on any class of cattle. Trade was fairly active on moderate to good demand. The trading area has finally had a chance to dry out so cattle can get to market. Slaughter cows and bulls made up 17%, 7% and 76% feeders. The feeder supply consisted of 48% steers and bulls, 52% heifers. Only 29% of the run weighed over 600 pounds.
