Tulia Livestock Auction report

The Tulia Livestock Auction, Tulia, Texas, reported receipts of 2,177 head selling on Nov. 8, compared to 1,407 head a week ago and 2,734 head last year, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Amarillo, Texas.

Compared to a week ago, feeder steers and heifers were selling $2 to $5 lower. Trade activity and demand were moderate to good. Yearling cattle are starting to make it to market after the trading area has had a chance to dry out. Slaughter cows and bulls were selling steady to $3 lower. Slaughter cows and bulls made up 4%, less than 1% replacements and 95% feeders. The feeder supply consisted of 64% steers and bulls, 36% heifers. Nearly 58% of the run weighed over 600 pounds.
