Georgia livestock auction summary
The summary of livestock auctions in Georgia for the week ending Nov. 9, totaled 7,869 head selling, compared to 8,758 head a week ago and 9,967 head last year, according to the USDA-Georgia Department of Agriculture Market News, Thomasville, Georgia.
Compared to a week ago, slaughter cows were selling $1 to $2 lower, slaughter bulls were selling mostly steady, feeder steers and steer calves were selling steady to $2 lower. Feeder heifers were selling steady to $3 lower, heifer calves were selling $1 to $2 lower, feeder bulls and bull calves were selling steady to $1 lower, replacement cows were selling mostly steady. The offering included 12% steers slaughter cows, 2% slaughter bulls, 13% feeders over 600 pounds, 68% feeders under 600 pounds, 5% feeder cows, 13% feeder steers, 35% feeder heifers and 33% feeder bulls.
