Kansas ranches win 3 of the top 4 places at World Championship Ranch Rodeo

Kansas teams won three of the top four holes and most of the individual events at the World Championship Ranch Rodeo, Nov. 8 to 11 in Amarillo, Texas. Beachner Bros. Livestock of Erie, Kansas, won the world championship and finished first in both team penning and wild cow milking. Members of the Beachner team were Calvin, Cody, Caden and Gina Kendall, Ty Swiler and Kris Vitt. Swiler was the reserve top hand at the event, with Cody Kendall’s grey horse, Little Tee J Paul, winning the Top American Quarter Horse and Top WCRR Horse awards.

The reserve world champion team was Haywire Cattle Company of El Dorado. Team members Andy, Callie and Randy Jones, Justin and Jake Peterson and Clint Bohnen won the ranch bronc riding and team branding. Justin Peterson, who rode the broncs, was named the WCRR Top Hand. Playboys Ten Eagle, ridden by Andy Jones, was the reserve Top Horse at WCRR.

Fourth place overall was Broken H Ranch/Hebb Ranch of Bronson and Fall River. Members of the team were Cliff and Brock Hall, Josh Lilley, Chris Potter and Bayle Hebb.

Teams participating at WCRR qualified for the event through state and regional ranch rodeos across the country, including the Kansas Championship Ranch Rodeo. In all, 22 teams participated at the finals. Other Kansas teams competing at Amarillo were Eight Over Quarter Circle/Stinson Ranch of Minneapolis, Lonesome Pine Ranch of Cedar Point, Robbins Ranch/Keith Cattle Company of Cottonwood Falls and Stock Ranch/Felt Ranch of Redfield.
