Arkansas livestock auction summary
The summary of livestock auctions in Arkansas for the week ending Nov. 19, showed estimated receipts of 7,375 head selling, compared to 9,470 head a week ago and 12,460 head last year, according to the USDA-Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service, Little Rock, Arkansas.
Compared to a week ago, feeder steers were selling mostly steady to $3 higher. Feeder heifers were selling mostly steady to $6 higher. Slaughter cows were selling steady to $1 higher. Slaughter bulls were selling $2 higher. The supply included 4,990 stocker and feeder calves, 1,370 feeder yearlings, 455 replacement cows, 475 slaughter cows and 85 slaughter bulls. The feeder supply was 42% yearling heifers. The next report will be Dec. 3 due to the Thanksgiving holiday.
