Lexington Livestock Market report
The Lexington Livestock Market, Lexington, Nebraska, reported receipts of 3,360 head selling on Nov. 16, compared to 2,149 head a week ago and 2,961 head last year, according to the Nebraska Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News Service, Kearney, Nebraska.
Compared to a week ago, steer calves were selling steady to $2 higher except 550 to 600 pounds were selling $5 lower. Heifer calves under 550 pounds were selling $3 to $7 higher and over 550 pounds were selling $2 to $4 lower. Demand was good from the buyers in the crowd. Around 410 head of slaughter cows and bulls are included in the receipts. The calf and feeder supply included 59% steers and 41% heifers with nearly 46% of the run weighing over 600 pounds.
