Tulia Livestock Auction report

The Tulia Livestock Auction, Tulia, Texas, reported receipts of 2,412 head selling on Nov. 29, compared to 2,706 head Nov. 15 and 2,759 head last year, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Amarillo, Texas.

Compared to the Nov. 15 sale, feeder steers and heifers were trading mostly steady. Trade was fairly active on moderate to good demand. The bulk of the offerings consisted of stocker calves going back to wheat pasture. Slaughter cows and bulls made up 2%, less than 1% replacements and 98% feeders. The feeder supply consisted of 48% steers and bulls, 52% heifers. Nearly 50% of the run weighed over 600 pounds.
