Ericson Livestock Auction report
The Ericson Livestock Auction, Ericson, Nebraska, reported receipts of 2,150 head selling on Dec. 1, compared to 4,794 head a week ago and 3,572 head last year, according to the Nebraska Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News Service, Kearney, Nebraska.
Compared to a week ago, steers under 600 pounds were selling mostly steady and heifers were selling $3 to $6 lower with smaller than expected consignments due to winter storms moving into the trade area. Demand was good from the buyers in the seats with internet activity noticed. The calf and feeder supply included 55% steers and 45% heifers with only near 7% of the run weighing over 600 pounds.
