Salina livestock auction report
The Farmers and Ranchers Livestock Commission Co., Salina, Kansas, reported receipts of 2,731 head selling on Dec. 6, compared to 4,003 head a week ago and 2,972 head last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kansas.
Compared to a week ago, many are still in the fields which was reflected in the receipts. Steers 400 to 1100 pounds were selling $1 to $5 lower. In heifers 350 to 1100 pounds, a lower undertone was noted. Trade and demand was moderate. The feeder supply was 57% steers and 43% heifers, with 65% 600 pounds and over.
