American Angus Auxiliary elects new leadership

Four regional directors and four executive officers were elected at the recent Annual Meeting of the American Angus Auxiliary. The meeting took place during the 2018 Angus Convention in Columbus, Ohio.

“This is my eighth consecutive year as an officer, which I’m proud of,” said Cindy Ahearn, 2018-2019 Auxiliary president. “I love the comradery of the Auxiliary and supporting the youth; they are the cream of the crop. We are passionate about the breed and about the kids.”

Ahearn is a Texas native and served five years as an American Angus Auxiliary regional director. She then moved on to serve as secretary-treasurer and president-elect.

The new regional directors are Carol DeMeyer, Region One; Marya Haverkamp, Region Three; Julie Conover, Region Four; and Valerie Trowbridge, Region Six. Vivian Wolf was re-elected to serve as Region Two director. Deanna Hofing of Indiana will continue to serve Region Five. The regional directors will serve a two-year term and took office immediately following the election.

Past president, Leslie Mindemann of Wisconsin, will serve as advisor. Pam Velisek joins the officer team as secretary-treasurer. Gina Hope of Virginia has moved to president-elect.

The American Angus Auxiliary works with the American Angus Association and the National Junior Angus Association to promote youth, education and the Angus breed.
