Arkansas livestock auction report

The summary of livestock auctions in Arkansas for the week ending June 14, showed estimated receipts of 6,470 head selling, compared to 8,420 head a week ago and 9,650 head last year, according to the USDA-Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service, Little Rock, Arkansas.

Compared to a week ago, feeder steers under 600 pounds were selling mostly $12 to $16 higher, offerings over 600 pounds were selling $5 higher. Feeder heifers were selling mostly $10 to $12 higher. Slaughter cows were selling $2 to $5 higher. Slaughter bulls were selling steady. The supply included 4,633 stocker and feeder calves, 1,027 feeder yearlings, 344 replacement cows, 374 slaughter cows and 85 slaughter bulls. The feeder supply was 45% yearling heifers.
