Grain market close

The USDA Market News Service, Greeley, Colo., in the closing grain report for Dec. 30, 2019, reported in futures trading that Chicago March soft red winter wheat was $5.63 1/2 to $5.55 1/2, down 3/4 cents; March corn, $3.88 to $3.88 1/2, down 1 1/2 cents; and March soybeans, $9.51 1/4 to $9.52 1/4, up 11 cents.

The export bid for direct Gulf delivery of No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, rail, $6.05 1/2 to $6.01 1/2, up 3/4 cents; No. 2 soft red winter wheat, barge, $6.56 to $6.66, down 1/4 cent; No. 2 yellow corn, barge, $4.26 1/4, down 1 3/4 cents; No. 2 yellow sorghum, rail, $7.46 3/4 to $7.70, down 3 1/4 cents; No. 2 yellow sorghum, barge, unavailable; and No. 1 yellow soybeans, barge, $10.03 1/2, up 10 cents.

Colby, Kan., unit train wheat bid was $4.29.

In Denver and the surrounding area, hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, was $4.46 to $4.76.

No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, north central Colorado, was mostly 1 cent higher, at $4.46 to $4.56.

In northeast Colorado, wheat was $4.02 to $4.21.

In east central Colorado, wheat was $4.21 to $4.41.

In southeast Colorado, wheat was $4.11 to $4.36.

In southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming, wheat bids were $4.06 to $4.25.

No. 2 yellow corn in north central Colorado was 2 cents lower and $4.13 to $4.18 per bushel.

In northeast Colorado, the country elevator corn bids were $3.53 to $3.73.

In east central Colorado, corn was $3.53 to $3.68.

In southeast Colorado, corn was $3.53 to $3.88.

In southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming, corn bids were $3.58 to $3.66 per bushel.

No. 2 yellow sorghum in southeast Colorado was 3 to 4 cents lower at $5.50 to $5.95 per cwt.

No. 1 yellow soybeans in southwest Nebraska were 10 to 23 cents higher at $8.14 to $8.38 per bushel.

White millet in Colorado, southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming was $12 to $13 per cwt., mostly $12 to $12.50.

Sunflowers were $18.50 cwt.

In Denver and surrounding areas, corn was $4.13 to $4.18 per bushel. Barley was not available.

In northeast Colorado, Wyoming and western Nebraska, pinto beans were steady $32 per cwt; in North Dakota and Minnesota, pinto beans were steady $32 to $35. In North Dakota and Minnesota, black beans were steady $23 to $26. Great Northerns were steady at $35 in northeast Colorado, Wyoming and western Nebraska. In North Dakota and Minnesota, navy beans were steady $28 to $30. In northeast Colorado, Wyoming and western Nebraska, light red kidneys were steady $39; in North Dakota and Minnesota, light red kidneys were steady $38 to $44.
