Grain market close

The USDA Market News Service, Greeley, Colorado, in the closing grain report for Oct. 13, reported in futures trading that Chicago December soft red winter wheat was $5.94 1/4; December corn, $3.89; and November soybeans, $10.33 3/4.

The export bid for direct Gulf delivery of No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, rail, unavailable; No. 2 soft red winter wheat, barge, $6.44 to $6.72 1/4, down 1/2 to 1/4 cent; No. 2 yellow corn, barge, $4.63 1/4 to $4.71 1/4, up 3 1/2 to 7 1/2 cents; No. 2 yellow sorghum, rail, $5.91 1/4, up 2 1/4 cents; No. 2 yellow sorghum, barge, unavailable; and No. 1 yellow soybeans, barge, $11 to $11.30, up 10 1/4 to 11 1/4 cents.

Colby, Kansas, unit train wheat bid was $4.86 to 4.93.

In Denver and the surrounding area, hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, was $5.01 1/4 to $5.31 1/4.

No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, north central Colorado, was $5.01 1/4 to $5.31 1/4.

In northeast Colorado, wheat was $4.67 1/4 to $4.91 1/4.

In east central Colorado, wheat was $4.81 1/4 to $5.06 1/4.

In southeast Colorado, wheat was $4.81 1/4 to $5.01 1/4.

In southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming, wheat bids were $4.67 1/4 to $4.86 1/4.

No. 2 yellow corn in north central Colorado was $4.21 1/4 to $4.36 1/4 per bushel.

In northeast Colorado, the country elevator corn bids were $3.79 1/4 to $4.11 1/4.

In east central Colorado, corn was $3.81 1/4 to $4.09 1/4.

In southeast Colorado, corn was $4.21 1/4 to $4.26 1/4.

In southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming, corn bids were $3.76 1/4 to $3.86 1/4 per bushel.

No. 2 yellow sorghum in southeast Colorado was $4.76 1/4 to $4.91 1/4 per cwt.

No. 1 yellow soybeans in southwest Nebraska were $9.54 to $9.79 per bushel.

White millet in Colorado, southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming was $21 to $22.50 per cwt.

Sunflowers were $17.50 cwt.

In Denver and surrounding areas, corn was $4.21 1/3 to $4.36 1/4 per bushel. Barley was unavailable.

In northeast Colorado, Wyoming and western Nebraska, pinto beans were steady $23 to $24 per cwt; in North Dakota and Minnesota, pinto beans were steady at $22 to $23. In North Dakota and Minnesota, black beans were steady $24 to $25. Great Northerns were steady at $30 to $32 in northeast Colorado, Wyoming and western Nebraska. In North Dakota and Minnesota, navy beans were steady $26. In northeast Colorado, Wyoming and western Nebraska, light red kidneys were unavailable; in North Dakota and Minnesota, light red kidneys were steady $40 to $43.
