Grain market close

The USDA Market News Service, Greeley, Colorado, in the closing grain report for Jan. 12, reported in futures trading that Chicago March soft red winter wheat was $6.65; March corn, $5.17 1/4; and January soybeans, $14.22.

The export bid for direct Gulf delivery of No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, rail, unavailable; No. 2 soft red winter wheat, barge, $7.13 to $7.75, up 22 1/4 to 40 1/4 cents; No. 2 yellow corn, barge, $5.81 1/4 to $5.99 1/4, up 25 to 31 cents; No. 2 yellow sorghum, rail, $7.17 1/4 to $7.37 1/4, up 25 cents; No. 2 yellow sorghum, barge, unavailable; and No. 1 yellow soybeans, barge, $14.96 to $15.04, up 45 1/2 to 51 1/2cents.

Colby, Kansas, unit train wheat bid was $5.81 to $5.88.

In Denver and the surrounding area, hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, was $6.03 to $6.28.

No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, north central Colorado, was $6.02 1/2 to $6.27 1/2.

In northeast Colorado, wheat was $5.58 1/2 to $5.77 1/2.

In east central Colorado, wheat was $5.77 1/2 to $6.02 1/2.

In southeast Colorado, wheat was $5.72 1/2 to $5.92 1/2.

In southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming, wheat bids were $5.58 1/2 to $5.72 1/2.

No. 2 yellow corn in north central Colorado was $5.62 1/4 to $5.67 1/4.

In northeast Colorado, the country elevator corn bids were $5.06 1/4 to $5.37 1/4.

In east central Colorado, corn was $5.42 1/4 to $5.52 1/4.

In southeast Colorado, corn was $5.52 1/4.

In southwest Nebraska corn bids were $5.02 1/4 to $5.09 1/4 per bushel.

No. 2 yellow sorghum in southeast Colorado was $6.37 1/4 to $6.52 1/4.

No. 1 yellow soybeans in southwest Nebraska were $13.28 1/4 to $12.53 1/4.

White millet in Colorado, southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming was $20 to $24 per cwt.

Sunflowers were $19 per cwt.

In Denver and surrounding areas, corn was $5.63 to $5.67. Barley was unavailable.

In northeast Colorado, Wyoming and western Nebraska, pinto beans were steady $24 per cwt; in North Dakota and Minnesota, pinto beans were steady at $27 to $30. In North Dakota and Minnesota, black beans were steady $25 to $29. Great Northerns were steady at $30 in northeast Colorado, Wyoming and western Nebraska. In North Dakota and Minnesota, navy beans were steady $28. In northeast Colorado, Wyoming and western Nebraska, light red kidneys were unavailable; in North Dakota and Minnesota, light red kidneys were steady $40 to $43.
