The USDA Market News Service, Greeley, Colorado, in the closing grain report for March 16, reported in futures trading that Chicago May soft red winter wheat was $6.47; May corn, $5.54 1/2; and May soybeans, $14.23 1/4.

The export bid for direct Gulf delivery of No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, rail, unavailable; No. 2 soft red winter wheat, barge, $6.97 to $7.55, down 8 to up 5 cents; No. 2 yellow corn, barge, $6.09 3/4 to $6.31 1/4, up 3 3/4 to 5 3/4 cents; No. 2 yellow sorghum, rail, $7.94 1/4 to $8.09 1/4, up 4 3/4 cents; No. 2 yellow sorghum, barge, unavailable; and No. 1 yellow soybeans, barge, unavailable.

Colby, Kansas, unit train wheat bid was $5.88 to $6.16.

In Denver and the surrounding area, hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, was $6.07 to $6.35.

No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, north central Colorado, was $5.88 1/4 to $6.16 1/4.

In northeast Colorado, wheat was $5.38 1/4 to $5.63 1/4.

In east central Colorado, wheat was $5.63 1/4 to $5.98 1/4.

In southeast Colorado, wheat was $5.63 1/4 to $5.83 1/4.

In southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming, wheat bids were $5.38 1/4 to $5.63 1/4.

No. 2 yellow corn in north central Colorado was $5.99 1/4 to $6.24 1/4.

In northeast Colorado, the country elevator corn bids were $5.43 1/4 to $5.79 1/4.

In east central Colorado, corn was $5.79 1/4 to $5.89 1/4.

In southeast Colorado, corn was $5.94 1/4.

In southwest Nebraska corn bids were $5.39 1/4 to $5.43 1/4 per bushel.

No. 2 yellow sorghum in southeast Colorado was $6.74 1/4 to $6.89 1/4.

No. 1 yellow soybeans in southwest Nebraska were $13.33 1/4 to $13.58 1/4.

White millet in Colorado, southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming was $28 to $30 per cwt.

Sunflowers were $20.50 per cwt.

In Denver and surrounding areas, corn was $5.99 to $6.24. Barley was unavailable.

In northeast Colorado, Wyoming and western Nebraska, pinto beans were steady $26 per cwt; in North Dakota and Minnesota, pinto beans were steady at $30 to $32. In North Dakota and Minnesota, black beans were steady $27 to $32. Great Northerns were steady at $30 in northeast Colorado, Wyoming and western Nebraska. In North Dakota and Minnesota, navy beans were steady $32. In northeast Colorado, Wyoming and western Nebraska, light red kidneys were unavailable; in North Dakota and Minnesota, light red kidneys were steady $41 to $44.
