The USDA Market News Service, Greeley, Colorado, in the closing grain report for March 23, reported in futures trading that Chicago May soft red winter wheat was $6.34 3/4; May corn, $5.51 1/4; and May soybeans, $14.23 1/4.
The export bid for direct Gulf delivery of No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, rail, unavailable; No. 2 soft red winter wheat, barge, $6.86 1/4 to $7.44 3/4, up 7 to 7 1/2 cents; No. 2 yellow corn, barge, $6.02 1/4 to $6.29 1/4, up 2 3/4 to 2 1/4 cents; No. 2 yellow sorghum, rail, $7.91 1/4 to $8.06 1/4, up 2 1/4 cents; No. 2 yellow sorghum, barge, unavailable; and No. 1 yellow soybeans, barge, unavailable.
Colby, Kansas, unit train wheat bid was $5.47 to $5.52.
In Denver and the surrounding area, hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, was $5.62 to $5.90.
No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, north central Colorado, was $5.62 to $5.90.
In northeast Colorado, wheat was $5.12 to $5.37.
In east central Colorado, wheat was $5.37 to $5.72.
In southeast Colorado, wheat was $5.37 to $5.57.
In southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming, wheat bids were $5.12 to $5.37.
No. 2 yellow corn in north central Colorado was $5.99 1/4 to $6.24 1/4.
In northeast Colorado, the country elevator corn bids were $5.96 1/4 to $6.21 1/4.
In east central Colorado, corn was $5.76 1/4 to $5.86 1/4.
