The USDA Market News Service, Greeley, Colorado, in the closing grain report for Aug. 3, reported in futures trading that Chicago September soft red winter wheat was $7.24 1/2; September corn, $5.50 1/2; and August soybeans, $13.92 1/4.
The export bid for direct Gulf delivery of No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, rail, unavailable; No. 2 soft red winter wheat, barge, $7.48 to $7.49, down 10 1/2 cents; No. 2 yellow corn, barge, $6.43 3/4 to $6.37 3/4, down 15 to 5 cents; No. 2 yellow sorghum, rail, $6.99 1/4 to $7.33 3/4, unchanged to down 10 cents; No. 2 yellow sorghum, barge, unavailable; and No. 1 yellow soybeans, barge, $14.52 1/2, change unavailable.
Colby, Kansas, unit train wheat bid was $6.78 to $6.79.
In Denver and the surrounding area, hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, was $6.88 to $7.28.
No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, north central Colorado, was $6.87 1/2 to $7.27 1/2.
In northeast Colorado, wheat was $6.47 1/2 to $6.72 1/2.
In east central Colorado, wheat was $6.67 1/2 to $6.92 1/2.
In southeast Colorado, wheat was $7.02 1/2 to $7.07 1/2.
In southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming, wheat bids were $6.47 1/2 to $6.62 1/2.
No. 2 yellow corn in north central Colorado was $7 1/2.
In northeast Colorado, the country elevator corn bids were $6.30 1/2 to $6.65 1/2.
In east central Colorado, corn was $5.50 1/2 to $6.30 1/2.
In southeast Colorado, corn was $6.45 1/2 to $6.60 1/2.
In southwest Nebraska corn bids were $6.30 1/2 to $6.38 1/2 per bushel.
No. 2 yellow sorghum in southeast Colorado was $5.50 1/2 to $5.95 1/2.
No. 1 yellow soybeans in southwest Nebraska were $12.43 3/4 to $12.89 3/4.
White millet in Colorado, southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming was $15.50 to $18 per cwt.
