Grain market close

The USDA Market News Service, Greeley, Colorado, in the closing grain report for Aug. 24, reported in futures trading that Chicago September soft red winter wheat was $7.18; September corn, $5.44 1/2; and September soybeans, $13.37.

The export bid for direct Gulf delivery of No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, rail, unavailable; No. 2 soft red winter wheat, barge, $7.28 to $7.45, down 1 3/4 to 1/4 cents; No. 2 yellow corn, barge, $6.34 1/2 to $6.49 1/2, up 6 1/2 to 11 1/2 cents; No. 2 yellow sorghum, rail, $6.95 1/4 to $7.29 1/2, up 9 3/4 to 6 1/2 cents; No. 2 yellow sorghum, barge, unavailable; and No. 1 yellow soybeans, barge, $14.36 3/4, up 34 cents.

Colby, Kansas, unit train wheat bid was $6.69 to $6.73.

In Denver and the surrounding area, hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, was $6.84 to $7.27.

No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, north central Colorado, was $6.84 1/4 to $7.27 1/4.

In northeast Colorado, wheat was $6.44 1/4 to $6.69 1/4.

In east central Colorado, wheat was $6.64 1/4 to $6.74 1/4.

In southeast Colorado, wheat was $6.74 1/4 to 7.09 1/4.

In southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming, wheat bids were $6.44 1/4 to $6.59 1/4.

No. 2 yellow corn in north central Colorado was $6.94 1/2 to 6.95 1/4.

In northeast Colorado, the country elevator corn bids were $6.29 1/2 to $6.69 1/2.

In east central Colorado, corn was $5.69 1/2 to $6.14 1/2.

In southeast Colorado, corn was $6.14 1/2.

In southwest Nebraska corn bids were $6.19 1/2 to $6.29 1/2 per bushel.

No. 2 yellow sorghum in southeast Colorado was $5.69 1/2 to $5.74 1/2.

No. 1 yellow soybeans in southwest Nebraska were $12.57 to $12.71 3/4.

White millet in Colorado, southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming was $14 to $16 per cwt.

Sunflowers were $30 per cwt.

In Denver and surrounding areas, corn was $6.95. Barley was unavailable.

In northeast Colorado, Wyoming and western Nebraska, pinto beans were steady $35-$38 per cwt; in North Dakota and Minnesota, pinto beans were steady at $42 to $45. In North Dakota and Minnesota, black beans were steady $40 to $45. Great Northerns were steady at $30 in northeast Colorado, Wyoming and western Nebraska. In North Dakota and Minnesota, navy beans were steady $37 to $40. In northeast Colorado, Wyoming and western Nebraska, light red kidneys were unavailable; in North Dakota and Minnesota, light red kidneys were $48.
