High Plains slaughter report
The High Plains area weekly weighted average direct cattle sales results for the week ending Jan. 30 reported receipts of 57,186 head of cattle selling compared to 49,834 head a week ago and 65,755 head trading a year ago, according to USDA Livestock Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri. This report is based on sales from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa and Minnesota feedlots.
Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 14,099 head, 1,305 to 1,610 lbs., 152.00 to 157.00 (154.86); 65 to 80% Choice, 5,312 head, 1,250 to 1,600 lbs., 155.00 to 156.00 (155.95); 35 to 65% Choice, 2,400 head, 1,150 to 1,650 lbs., 155.00 to 156.00. Live delivered, over 80% Choice, 713 head, 1,450 to 1,500 lbs., 158.00 to 159.00 (158.14).
