Soil Health U day one held in Salina, Kansas

Several hundred attendees braved the cold temperatures and ice to attend Soil Health U 2024 in Salina, Kansas, on Jan. 17.

The day kicked off with an inspiring keynote address from Jeremy Brown with Broadview Agriculture. His session delved into the fifth-generation farmer’s soil health journey and why he farms the way he does.

Attendees visited the trade show and viewed exhibitor demos before attending three sets of breakout speaker sessions, which covered topics such as soil testing, regenerative grazing, soil health practices in a dry climate, cover crops and water conservation.

Attendees gathered on the trade show floor after the final day-one breakouts for the presentation of the Soil Health U awards. Carolyn Wingate, the 2024 Regenerative Woman of the Year and Marcus Richardson, Young Producer of the Year, were honored on the stage with their awards.

Finally, attendees and exhibitors gathered on the trade show floor for the Tailgate Social event, full of opportunities for networking and learning from each other. The second and final day of Soil Health U is Jan. 18.
