In recognizing the importance of grasslands, the South Dakota Grasslands Summit will be March 18 and 19 in Oacoma, South Dakota. The event will focus on opportunities and challenges and the significance of the grasslands in South Dakota.

The summit will offer educational opportunities in agricultural production, ag finance, wildlife, community health and natural resources. Attendees will be able to participate in shaping the future of South Dakota’s grassland image.

The March 18 speakers will address the status of South Dakota’s grasslands in relation to ecology, economics, market forces, and social value. March 19 will build on ideas shared on the first day with large group conversations looking at finding collaborative solutions to the challenges the grasslands face.
