High Plains cattle sales report

The High Plains area weekly weighted average direct cattle sales results for the week ending June 16, reported receipts of 80,890 head compared to 52,449 head a week ago and 49,378 head a year ago, according to the USDA Livestock Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri.

The report is based on sales from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa, and Minnesota feedlots.

Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 21,704 head, 1,350 to 1,700 lbs., 185.50 to 198.00 (194.35); 65 to 80% Choice, 7,538 head, 1,121 to 1,585 lbs., 184.00 to 196.00 (188.36); 35 to 65% Choice, 1,060 head, 1,130 to 1,500 lbs., 184.00 to 186.50 (185.48). Live delivered, over 80% Choice, 352 head, 1,450 to 1,500 lbs., 190.00 to 194.00 (193.48); 35 to 65% Choice, 380 head, 1,425 lbs., 194.00.
