High Plains cattle sales report

The High Plains area weekly weighted average direct cattle sales results for the week ending April 14, reported receipts of 56,958 head compared to 65,915 head a week ago and 73,424 head a year ago, according to the USDA Livestock Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri.

The report is based on sales from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa, and Minnesota feedlots.

Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 13,553 head, 1,298 to 1,675 lbs., 181.00 to 189.00 (184.54); 65 to 80% Choice, 4,785 head, 1,200 to 1,540 lbs., 170.00 to 182.00 (181.91); 35 to 65% Choice, 197 head, 1,222 to 1,500 lbs., 182.00. Live delivered, over 80% Choice, 659 head, 1,500 to 1,540 lbs., 185.00 to 186.00 (185.16).
