High Plains cattle sales report

The High Plains area weekly weighted average direct cattle sales results for the week ending April 21, reported receipts of 56,659 head compared to 56,958 head a week ago and 62,532 head a year ago, according to the USDA Livestock Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri.

The report is based on sales from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa, and Minnesota feedlots.

Steers: 14,244 head, 1,200 to 1,675 lbs., 181.00 to 184.00 (183.13); 65 to 80% Choice, 7,337 head, 1,265 to 1,550 lbs., 180.00 to 184.00 (181.94); 35 to 65% Choice, 1,480 head, 1,210 to 1,500 lbs., 181.00 to 182.00 (181.89). Live delivered, over 80% Choice, 977 head, 1,450 to 1,600 lbs., 184.00 to 186.00 (185.52).
