Iowa Corn has announced that two state lawmakers were the recipients of the 2024 Friends of Iowa Corn Award.
State Sen. Annette Sweeney and House Majority Leader Matt Windschitl were recognized for their dedication to the corn industry and support of farmers across the state. This annual recognition is bestowed upon individuals who have shown exceptional support for the Iowa Corn Growers Association priorities and Iowa’s corn farmers.
Over the past two years, the corn checkoff has faced significant challenges, the ICGA said. Sweeney and Windschitl have played instrumental roles in defending the integrity of the checkoff by standing shoulder to shoulder with the Iowa Corn Growers Association to safeguard the interests of hard-working farmers.
