For 75 years, High Plains Journal has been serving its readers and followers with the latest agriculture news and education. We wouldn’t be where we are today without the dedicated farmers and ranchers who continue to read, advertise and share our content each week.
This week kicks off our eighth annual Agriculture Cares campaign, a campaign that was created to honor those who go above and beyond to improve their communities. This is our simple way of giving back to farm-focused organizations that support the legacy of American agriculture.
This year, HPJ is partnering with Farm Rescue and Ag in the Classroom through a donation-based subscription campaign. Now through November 30, for all two-year subscriptions, a portion of your subscription dollars will be donated to your choice of these organizations. Through the Agriculture Cares campaign, you’re putting your hard-earned dollars to more use, supporting ag education and helping farmers in crisis while also investing in yourself.
Farm Rescue’s mission is to help farmers and ranchers who have experienced a major illness, injury or natural disaster by providing the necessary equipment and volunteer workforce to plant, hay or harvest their crop. Livestock feeding assistance is also available to ranchers. (A photo from 2023 is shown above courtesy of Farm Rescue.)
Ag in the Classroom (AITC) programs seek to improve student achievement by applying authentic, agricultural-based content as the context to teach core curriculum concepts in science, social studies, language arts and nutrition. By encouraging teachers to embed agriculture into their classroom, AITC cultivates an understanding and appreciation of the food and fiber system that we all rely on every day.
