The High Plains area weekly weighted average direct cattle sales results for the week ending Dec. 1, reported receipts of 65,516 head compared to 50,801 head a week ago and 57,879 head a year ago, according to the USDA Livestock Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri.
The report is based on sales from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa, and Minnesota feedlots.
Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 27,050 head, 1,275 to 1,675 lbs., 186.00 to 192.00 (190.03); 65 to 80% Choice, 4,415 head, 1,265 to 1,550 lbs., 188.00 to 191.00 (189.85); 35 to 65% Choice, 1,250 head, 1,400 to 1,500 lbs., 188.00 to 190.00 (189.03).
