Nebraska recognizes ag poster contest winners

In recognition of National Ag Week, the Nebraska Department of Agriculture has announced winners. This year’s theme, “Agriculture is Amazing,” highlights and celebrates Nebraska’s No. 1 industry. The poster contest was open to Nebraska students in grades 1 to 6.

In the first and second grade category, first place, Everly Exum, Chase County Schools in Imperial; second, Ryker Stunkel, Longfellow Elementary School in Hastings; third, William Cross, Maywood Public Schools. Governor’s Choice, Mirra Fuehrer-Martinelli, Chase County Schools in Imperial. Third and fourth grades, first, Emily Chelewski, Seward Elementary School; second, Grace Evans, Mary Our Queen School in Omaha; third, Makayla Kensler, Gordon Elementary School. Governor’s Choice, Rosa Helgerson, St. Pius X/ St. Leo School in Omaha.

Fifth and sixth grades, first, Violet Sinclair, Chase County Schools in Imperial; second, Hannah Detlefsen, Laurel-Concord-Coleridge School in Laurel; third, Connor Pojar, St. Wenceslaus School in Dodge. Governor’s Choice, Henry Dvorak, St. Wenceslaus School in Dodge.
