High Plains cattle sales report

The High Plains area weekly weighted average direct cattle sales results for the week ending March 30, reported receipts of 52,791 head compared to 77,076 head a week ago and 46,513 head a year ago, according to the USDA Livestock Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri.

The report is based on sales from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa, and Minnesota feedlots.

Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 16,419 head, 1,350 to 1,675 lbs., 208.00 to 215.00 (212.96); 65 to 80% Choice, 3,802 head, 1,290 to 1,594 lbs., 207.00 to 212.00 (209.59); 35 to 65% Choice, 1,473 head, 1,285 to 1,525 lbs., 206.00 to 210.00 (209.68).
