Kansas Cowboy Poetry Contest announced

The annual Kansas Cowboy Poetry Contest will feature a new regional contest location and new date for the finals in 2025.

For the first time, a first-round regional cowboy poetry contest will be in Cottonwood Falls. Regional contests will be 6 p.m. May 16, Hays Public Library, 1205 Main Street, Hays; and 7 p.m. June 7, Cowboy Lodge, 234 Broadway Street, Cottonwood Falls.

Contestants can enter to perform at either location or both. All ages are welcome. The finals is being moved to the fourth Friday in July to be held in conjunction with the National Day of the Cowboy. Those interested in competing can enter online at https://cowboypoetrycontest.com.
