Janel: In love with harvest

Southwest Oklahoma – Our crew has made it down south. We are just waiting on wheat to ripen and the weather to straighten up. I’m so glad to be here and back in the camper. There’s one thing I love and it’s harvest. Even though it’s May 26 and we haven’t gotten to cut wheat yet, I’m still proud to be here. I am definitely in love with harvest!

MacDon support has been here working and making adjustments on our headers the past two days. I hope they will run like a dream. I’ve been looking at wheat fields in the area. South of the river/state line the wheat looks a little better. I wish there’d been more rain here during the growing season. I always hope for and like to see a great wheat crop in this area. There is corn and milo planted here and looks very good with all of the month of May rainfall.

I don’t think much wheat will be cut this week. There are chances of rain and highs in only the seventies. We’ll see what it brings but everyone is ready to cut wheat and get it across the elevator scales!
