Hayden On Harvest: A Rocky Start to Central Texas Wheat Harvest

Hey wheat harvest fans! Join Hayden on a wild ride through a challenging harvest day in Central Texas. This video captures the real ups and downs of farming – and boy, are there plenty!

Hayden starts by dodging some nasty storms that split around his farm, then heads out to help a fellow farmer (nicknamed Eminem) harvest wheat. The field proves to be incredibly rocky, making combine harvesting tricky. He’s battling short wheat, mixed-in oats, and constantly adjusting his combine settings to get the best harvest possible.

Throughout the day, Hayden faces multiple obstacles: rocks jamming his equipment, wheat getting caught in the combine’s belts, and unexpected rain showers that keep interrupting his work. He even discovers a raccoon had been hanging around his combine – just another unexpected moment in a farmer’s day!

Despite the challenges, Hayden keeps his sense of humor. He manages to check moisture levels, fuel up with a new electric fuel tank, and even lets his adorable dog Dibs join in on the harvest adventure. The wheat is running about 15 bushels per acre, and moisture levels are hovering around 12-13.5%, which is right at the elevator’s acceptable range.

It’s a classic day of harvest – full of problem-solving, patience, and persistence. Just another day in the life of a Central Texas farmer!
