Raise a glass to dairy farmers

Butter, ice cream, cheese, and milk are just a few staple items that can be found in most American households. June is National Dairy Month and it’s a time to honor the family farms, wholesome food, jobs, and economic impact the dairy industry provides. More than 94% of dairy farms are family-owned, the industry supports over 3 million jobs and generates more than $40 billion in direct wages.

This month, I encourage you to stop by a dairy, creamery or even a local ice cream shop to help celebrate the dedication it takes to get nutritious dairy foods to your table. Check out this list of dairy related agritourism locations.
