High Plains cattle sales report
The High Plains area weekly weighted average direct cattle sales results for the week ending June 1, reported receipts 64,894 head compared to 46,393 head a week ago and 59,317 head a year ago, according to the USDA Livestock Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri.
The report was based on sales from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa, and Minnesota feedlots.
Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 15,857 head, 1,280 to 1,675 lbs., 222.00 to 237.00 (233.65); 65 to 80% Choice, 4,478 head, 1,300 to 1,550 lbs., 219.00 to 220.00 (222.57); 35 to 65% Choice, 3,228 head, 1,240 to 1,500 lbs., 215.00 to 225.00 (221.92). Live delivered, over 80% Choice, 1,874 head, 1,450 to 1,550 lbs., 230.00 to 236.90 (234.34); 65 to 80% Choice, 155 head, 1,355 to 1,450 lbs., 226.00 to 230.00 (228.09).
