Hayden On Harvest: this ONE thing SAVED me today
Hey wheat harvest followers! Today was a wild ride on Hayden’s wheat fields, and let me tell you, the weeds were putting up quite a fight!
Our crew started the morning with some serious combine cleaning and a motivational moment. Hayden shared an inspiring Bible verse about not stressing – perfect advice for farmers dealing with unpredictable harvest conditions.
6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. 7 Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6-7
New Living Translation
The wheat fields were looking pretty weedy, which meant slower cutting and some tricky moisture readings.
Lunch was… interesting. Let’s just say outdated bread led to a creative meat and cheese situation! Dibs the dog was along for the adventure, hoping to chase a few rabbits between combine passes.
The team powered through multiple pivot circles, battling tall weeds and keeping their spirits high. They managed to finish up with Hayden’s current field, which means a 50-mile move is coming up tomorrow. As a sweet bonus, Hayden’s farmer treated them to ice-cold Dr. Pepper in glass bottles – because everything tastes better that way, right?
By day’s end, they’d topped off the combines with fuel, prepped for tomorrow’s move, and shared plenty of laughs along the way. Just another day in the life of a harvest crew!
Stay tuned for more wheat cutting adventures!
