This past weekend I watched the memorial for Charlie Kirk who was assassinated two weeks ago.

He was a conservative activist who founded Turning Point USA at the age of 18 with no money, but only a desire and a vision to help young people in America. He was shot of at the age of 31 leaving a wife, Erika, and two small kids. There were more than 90,000 people that attended his memorial in Glendale, Arizona.

Many politicians spoke at his memorial, but the most impactful was his wife. She said that her husband was trying to help young men and women by giving them a platform to say almost anything they wanted, but he was always willing to stand for his Christian principles. His wife said that when Jesus was hung on a cross he then said, “Father forgive them for they know not what they do” and in a quiet voice she said, “I forgive the young man that took my husband’s life.”

Usha Vance the second lady of the United States was with her shortly after and she confided to Usha that she didn’t know how she was going to be able to handle this. Usha said, “Yes you can by taking it 15 minutes at a time.” Erika Kirk reminded us on this tragedy unlike many others in the past there were no building burned and no retaliation. What a strong and beautiful woman inside and out and to be able to say, “I forgive my husband’s killer.”

If you can out guess this cattle futures market then no doubt you are a lot smarter than I am. Oh well, you knew that anyway. On Monday, September feeders went up $3.57 per hundredweight, then the rest of the months from $7.25 to $9.25 higher. And most fat cattle futures were up $3.57 to $4.90 higher.

The cattle on feed report showed 99% on feed with placements at 90% and marketings at 86%. Keep in mind on placements not all of them get fat. I figure 2% probably die or am I the only one that has fat cattle die in the feedlot?

A friend of mine is a lot older than his wife. My friend went to the doctor and told him, “My wife is only 30 years old and I am 82. And now Doc I want to tell you that my wife is pregnant.” The doctor responds by telling a story about a hunter who accidently grabbed his umbrella

instead of his gun and points it at the bear, which then drops dead. The old man says, “That is impossible someone else must have shot the bear.” The doctor said, “That is my point exactly.”
