High Plains cattle sales report
The High Plains area weekly weighted average direct cattle sales results for the week ending Sept. 21, reported receipts of 46,611 head compared to 50,299 head a week ago and 68,892 head a year ago, according to the USDA Livestock Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri.
The report was based on sales from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa, and Minnesota feedlots.
Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 13,334 head, 1,375 to 1,700 lbs., 236.00 to 240.00 (236.72); 65 to 80% Choice, 1,968 head, 1,300 to 1,600 lbs., 239.00 to 240.00 (239.95); 35 to 65% Choice, 2,334 head, 1,300 to 1,570 lbs., 239.00 to 240.00 (239.95). Live delivered, over 80% Choice, 855 head, 1,450 to 1,625 lbs., 237.00 to 242.00 (239.21). Dress delivered, over 80% Choice, 7,319 head, 837 to 1,098 lbs., 365.00 to 376.00 (370.92); 65 to 80% Choice, 334 head, 916 to 1,004 lbs., 370.00. Dressed FOB, 1,177 head, 961 to 1,000 lbs., 372.00 to 374.00 (372.42).
