High Plains cattle sales report
The High Plains area weekly weighted average direct cattle sales results for the week ending Sept. 29, reported receipts of 47,212 head compared to 46,611 head a week ago and 63,238 head a year ago, according to the USDA Livestock Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri.
The report was based on sales from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa, and Minnesota feedlots.
Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 15,590 head, 1,300 to 1,650 lbs., 230.00 to 237.00 (232.35); 65 to 80% Choice, 981 head, 1,400 to 1,629 lbs., 232.00 to 237.00 (235.90); 35 to 65% Choice, 582 head, 1,350 to 1,660 lbs., 235.00 to 237.00 (235.14). Live delivered, over 80% Choice, 1,354 head, 1,475 to 1,575 lbs., 233.00 to 234.30 (234.12). Dress delivered, over 80% Choice, 9,132 head, 827 to 1,095 lbs., 365.00; 65 to 80% Choice, 357 head, 916 to 1,032 lbs., 365.00; 35 to 65% Choice, 59 head, 1,056 lbs., 360.00.
