High Plains cattle sales report
The High Plains area weekly weighted average direct cattle sales results for the week ending Nov. 9, reported receipts of 61.553 head compared to 48,293 head a week ago and 43,292 head a year ago, according to the USDA Livestock Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri.
The report was based on sales from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa, and Minnesota feedlots.
Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 19,463 head, 1,400 to 1,700 lbs., 225.00 to 232.00 (228.42); 65 to 80% Choice, 1,682 head, 1,340 to 1,522 lbs., 229.00 to 232.00 (231.56); 35 to 65% Choice, 236 head, 1,350 to 1,550 lbs., 230.00 to 235.00 (231.52). Live delivered, over 80% Choice, 1,115 head, 1,525 to 1,625 lbs., 229.00 to 230.00 (229.55); 65 to 80% Choice, 35 head, 1,425 lbs., 230.00. Dressed delivered, over 80% Choice, 11,270 head, 822 to 1,114 lbs., 355.00 to 365.00 (358.32); 65 to 80% Choice, 216 head, 972 to 998 lbs., 357.00 to 360.00 (358.79).
