TAWC Water College 2026

Texas Alliance for Water Conservation

The 12th Annual Texas Alliance for Water Conservation Water College will take place on January 21st at the Lubbock Civic Center in Lubbock, TX. The event — which is free to attend and includes lunch — is an opportunity for agriculture producers, consultants, and industry leaders to connect with the latest water management research, technologies, and industry progress.

The morning sessions focus on the economic and production fundamentals shaping Texas agriculture. After opening remarks, discussions examine the cost of fat in beef cattle and broader cattle market trends, providing insight into how producers arrived at current market conditions and what lies ahead. The agenda then shifts to risk management through crop insurance updates for 2026, followed by updates on water governance from the Texas Water Development Board and a broader agricultural policy outlook, setting the stage for how regulations, markets, and public policy intersect for producers.

The afternoon centers on water, sustainability, and future outlooks. Presentations explore advancements in using treated produced water in agriculture and ongoing water research at Texas Tech, highlighting innovation in water management. Legal considerations for Texas landowners regarding water rights are addressed, followed by a commodity outlook panel covering key sectors like cotton and agricultural economics. The day concludes with a weather outlook by Jacob Riley, Chief Meteorologist at KLBK.
