High Plains Slaughter Report
The High Plains area weekly weighted average direct cattle sales results for the week ending Dec. 14, reported receipts of 75,455 head compared to 57,974 head a week ago and 62,831 head a year ago, according to the USDA Livestock Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri.
The report was based on sales from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa, and Minnesota feedlots.
Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 30,946 head, 1,320 to 1,685 lbs., 222.00 to 232.00 (227.90); 65 to 80% Choice, 2,909 head, 1,350 to 1,700 lbs., 227.00 to 230.00 (229.71); 35 to 65% Choice, 2,427 head, 1,350 to 1,600 lbs., 230.00. Live delivered, over 80% Choice, 2,449 head, 1,450 to 1,625 lbs., 226.00 to 234.00 (231.93). Dressed delivered, over 80% Choice, 5,472 head, 837 to 1,138 lbs., 345.00 to 356.00 (353.57); 65 to 80% Choice, 209 head, 890 to 1,062 lbs., 355.00.
