SurePoint opens new sales and production center
SurePoint Ag Systems recently celebrated the grand opening of its new sales and production center in Atwood, Kansas, with a series of special events on Dec. 16.
In addition to all-employee meeting and guided tours, the celebration included a ribbon cutting ceremony and open house attended by nearly 300 people representing employees, dealers, customers, community members, contractors, and other dignitaries.
Cedric Green, director of operations for SurePoint Ag Systems, opened the ceremony with remarks about the project and the many teams who made it possible. “This facility isn’t just square footage—it’s capability,” Green said. “It’s where we’ll be able to build and ship more reliably, train more effectively, and collaborate more closely.”

He went on to thank the various contractors involved with the project, and the many teams at SurePoint Ag who helped make the move into the new facility possible. “You did it safely, you did it right, and you did it efficiently,” Green said. “The result is a facility designed for today’s operations and tomorrow’s growth.”
The company broke ground on this new facility in May 2024, with a vision for continued innovation and development in northwest Kansas. “Since 2007, SurePoint Ag has strived to be an economic engine for Atwood and Rawlins County,” said Josh Wolters, president and CEO for SurePoint Ag Systems. “But as we’ve grown, I believe we’re now also an economic engine for much of northwest Kansas.”

The new sales and production center was designed to expand the organization’s manufacturing capabilities, improve dealer and employee training resources, facilitate collaboration opportunities, and enhance logistical efficiencies. Across the organization, SurePoint Ag Systems employs more than 130 people, including 114 full-time employees, nine part-time employees, and other interns or on-the-job trainees. Careers at SurePoint Ag range from entry level production and assembly positions to professional engineers, accountants, sales managers, and customer support representatives.

“This building is an unmistakable marker of Deere’s commitment to growing SurePoint Ag’s influence from right here in Atwood, Kansas,” Wolters said. “We’re thrilled that we can not only retain these jobs for our community, but continue to build on our economic impact in the future.”
The new sales and production center more than doubles the total footprint of the company’s facilities, and is located in the same campus north of Atwood. Since 2007, this marks the fourth facility expansion the company has executed to support the growth of the business.

“SurePoint is growing when much of the agriculture industry is not – and there’s a reason for that. Your team continues to provide immense value to growers around the globe through innovation, and to provide value to your employees,” said Cory Reed, president of lifecycle solutions, supply management, and customer success for John Deere. “We talk about quality, innovation, integrity, commitment, and humanity at John Deere, and while SurePoint may use different terms in their core values statement, we’re both in perfect alignment as we each help our customers leap forward.”
Reed went on to address the relationship John Deere initiated with SurePoint Ag back in 2022, and what factors motivated that investment.
“We’re good at the new and the next at John Deere, but we identified over a decade ago that we needed to get better at helping customers adopt new technology and farming practices, and SurePoint Ag excels at that,” Reed said. “SurePoint’s capabilities complement Deere’s strengths. We are confident that together, we can continue helping customers operate more efficiently and improve their profitability for the benefit of our entire industry.”
