The High Plains area weekly weighted average direct cattle sales results for the week ending Dec. 28, reported receipts of 32,941 head compared to 26,095 head a week ago and 35,250 head a year ago, according to the USDA Livestock Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri.
The report was based on sales from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa, and Minnesota feedlots.
Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 10,941 head, 1,350 to 1,665 lbs., 226.00 to 230.00 (229.39); 65 to 80% Choice, 1,273 head, 1,165 to 1,725 lbs., 228.00 to 229.00 (228.98); 35 to 65% Choice, 830 head, 1,425 to 1,525 lbs., 229.00.
