Bish Enterprises’ FiberCut 414 earns AE50 recognition from ASABE

Bish Enterprises, Giltner, Nebraska, an agricultural harvesting innovation company, announced Jan. 7 that its FiberCut 414 has been named an AE50 Award winner by the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers.

The AE50 Awards recognize the top 50 most innovative engineering products and systems each year that advance efficiency, performance, and real-world impact in food and agriculture.

The FiberCut 414 is a tractor-powered, pull-behind harvesting system designed to rethink how tall fiber crops move from field to factory. A hydraulically controlled lifting and tilting cylinder works in tandem with modular, height-adjustable arms, allowing operators to cut multiple stalk zones in a single pass to match different processor or baler requirements.

With a 14-foot cutting knife and operating speeds upwards of 10 mph, the FiberCut 414 delivers productivity of up to 17 acres per hour, helping producers manage large acreages within tight harvest windows. Controlled crop laydown improves fiber uniformity while simplifying downstream handling and logistics.

By combining high-speed cutting with adaptable crop management, the FiberCut 414 lowers capital and labor barriers and improves fiber consistency for hemp, kenaf and other tall biomass crops. The result is a scalable, adaptable harvesting platform that supports modern regenerative and industrial fiber supply chains.

“This AE50 recognition validates the real-world engineering behind the FiberCut 414,” said Andrew Bish, Bish Enterprises. “This award is a credit to our team and the growers and processors who helped shape the FiberCut 414. We set out to build a harvesting platform that removes friction from field to factory, so fiber crops can scale with fewer labor constraints and more consistent quality.”

The FiberCut 414 will be formally recognized during the ASABE annual international meeting.
