A large crowd gathered under sunny skies at the Cross Diamond Cattle Company ranch south of Bertrand, Nebraska for the operation’s 20th Annual Production Sale, Dec. 8, 2025, where strong competition drove a very successful market for both Red Angus bulls and commercial females.
The offering included 239 Red Angus bulls, which averaged $14,262, along with 396 commercial bred heifers averaging $4,310, and 50 commercial bred three-year-old females that brought an average of $4,600. Buyers participated both online and in person, representing 21 states, with cattle ultimately selling into 18 states, underscoring demand for Cross Diamond genetics.
The bull sale was highlighted by Lot 1, Crs Diamnd Bond 475, which topped the event at $55,000. The April 17, 2024, son of HXC Bond 8840F, out of Crs Diamnd Synergy 394 cow, was purchased by Rough Diamond Ranch of Elwood, Nebraska. Additional high sellers included Pope Blue Chip M366 at $40,000, selling to Right On Catle Company of Bertrand, Nebraska, and several bulls reaching the $40,000 level, showing strong confidence in both sire power and maternal strength throughout the offering.
Volume buyers included Beth Briscoe of Needville, Texas, and Ted Swanson of Wellington, Colorado, each purchasing nine head. Paxton Ranch of Stapleton, Nebraska and Robert Eubanks of Teague, Texas, each acquired seven head during the sale. Mike Bolinger of Akron, Colorado, purchased Lot 21 to benefit the All-American Beef Battalion, adding a charitable highlight to the day’s events.
The sale was conducted by auctioneers Charlier Cummings of Yates Center, Kansas, and Cody Lowderman of Macomb, Illinois. Additional recognitions included John Warren of Stapleton, Nebraska, winner of the Henry Gun Drawing, and Clara Narjes of Sidney, Nebraska, who received the commercial bred heifer drawing. Overall, the 20th Annual Production Sale showcased Cross Diamond’s long-standing commitment to quality, consistency, and customer confidence, resulting in strong averages and wide geographic buyer participation.
